Named as one of 2016’s 100 most powerful Arab women by Arabian Business, Noor Faisal Al-Qatami has made an impressive mark on the Kuwaiti retail industry as the founder and CEO of retail group Saveco. After working and studying in the US, Al-Qatami returned to Kuwait in 2007 to work as the director of her father’s steel company. However, finding the role unfulfilling, she turned her attention to filling a gap in Kuwait’s grocery market, and thus founded Saveco. Since the brand was established as a subsidiary of Al-Qatami Group in 2013, it has become one of the country’s leading supermarkets, particularly with regards to its offering of organic and speciality products.
