Best CEO in the Real Estate Industry

Thomas Wolfensberger

Peach Property Group

After gaining vital experience overseeing two real estate funds at an asset management firm, Thomas Wolfensberger joined Peach Property Group in 2006. The company, a leading property investor and a developer of top-quality residential properties in Germany and Switzerland, has significantly expanded under Wolfensberger’s management.

Prior to his current position, Wolfensberger worked for a consultancy firm where he acquired international experience from assignments carried out in Chicago, Zurich, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. During these projects he focused on corporate strategy and issues related to technology. Later in his career, Wolfensberger served as CEO of Swissrisk, a financial software company he founded in 1999, which quickly grew into a firm with five offices and 120 employees.

Wolfensberger’s position as Peach Property’s CEO saw him become a member and network officer of the Young Presidents’ Organisation, a global platform for chief executives that currently connects 25,000 influential and innovative business leaders worldwide. Furthermore, as the head of the company – which is headquartered in Zurich and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange – Wolfensberger has boosted growth by increasing its property portfolio. Its total number of properties climbed to 4,870 units in 2016, when the company doubled its residential units in Germany.

Wolfensberger commands a successful business model based on three complementary pillars: the first is to focus on profitable investment properties with the potential to generate regular rental income. The second is to invest in premium projects with a high percentage of return on equity.

This strategy has allowed the group to achieve outstanding results in recent years: between 2015 and 2016, Peach Property Group’s profits soared from €1.04m to €9m. Among other milestones, the firm reported a rental income of €19.1m in 2016, along with a reduction in operating costs.
