A B Adjei is a seasoned procurement and supply chain management specialist. He was the first CEO of the Public Procurement Authority of Ghana (PPA), serving from 2005 to 2010, and has recently been reappointed as CEO for a second term. Among his many accomplishments, Adjei has helped PPA to gain recognition among international financial institutions.

Adjei is a well-known player in the procurement industry and has contributed immensely to the development of public procurement. He was an active member of the OECD’s task force on procurement and contributed to the development of the OECD’s Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems.

Adjei holds a Master of Laws degree in procurement law and policy from the University of Nottingham and a Master of Science degree in logistics and transportation from Cranfield University. He also has a postgraduate diploma in purchasing and supply from West Bromwich College of Commerce and Technology. Adjei holds a certificate in works procurement management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration and another certificate in international project procurement and contract negotiation from the International Law Institute in Uganda.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Project Management Professionals in Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply. He is a committee member for the Public Financial Management Reform Project and Public-Private Partnership in Ghana.

Adjei’s professional experience includes lecturing at Sokoto State University in Nigeria and working at Ghana Water Company as the chief manager of materials. He has also served as supplies manager for State Gold Mining and later Gold Fields Ghana, where he was responsible for all procurement and supply chain management functions.
