One of the most prominent businessmen in Egypt, 40-year-old Egyptian Steel Group CEO Ahmed Abou Hashima is one of a new generation of entrepreneurs to emerge from the country. Though he co-founded the Egyptian Steel Group in 2010, Abou Hashima has worked within Egypt’s steel industry since 1996. One of his key ambitions is to expand the group to become a one-stop shop for all building materials, not only steel. He also strives to continue the group’s successful corporate social responsibility campaigns to revamp the poorest villages in Egypt and to promote investment in Egypt in the world’s financial hubs.
