Born in Madrid in 1969, Marcelino Oreja has become one of Spain’s most important magnates. The CEO currently heads up the country’s largest energy carrier, Enagás, which has a presence in eight countries and specialises in the midstream natural gas sector. Oreja has spoken openly about his intentions to expand the company internationally, in order to cater to the world’s growing demand for energy. Oreja has a number of interests, including politics and writing. He was a member of the European Parliament between the years of 2002 and 2004, and has held several senior roles prior to becoming Enagás CEO in 2012.
